Your Story

The Hartford Breast Cancer Ride presented by RE/MAX Results began as a vision… as a way of honoring a beloved mother who had lived with the disease for many years, yet ultimately lost her battle with cancer. Training

The Hartford Breast Cancer Ride presented by RE/MAX Results is just that… a ride. It’s not a race! Nevertheless, you can’t just hop on a bike a go 100 to 150 miles over the course of two days without any training whatsoever. Whether you are a seasoned veteran of bike riding or a novice who hasn’t climbed on a bike in years, you need some preparation.

riders-11-200x340 As you probably know, the 2010 Ride is scheduled to start and end at the Mall of America. On Day 1 we will be biking down to Treasure Island Resort and Casino. There we will camp (or stay in comfy hotel rooms) for the night. On Day 2, we’ll roll out of Treasure Island and ride back to the Mega-mall in Bloomington. Sorry, it’s not all downhill, and we haven’t been able to arrange for a complete absence of wind.

What are you doing to prepare for the Ride? Are you taking any spinning classes? Have you changed your diet? What kind of mileage are you putting in on the roads? What is the best way to get ready for a two-day bike event like this?
